Quaybridge is proud to announce that it will support and sponsor the Winds of Change Project. This Edinburgh University project is designed to enable student learning on low-carbon energy generation as well as supporting Edinburgh-based community charities.
During the first phase, the student-led project aims to build a 1kW wind turbine that will be installed in 2020, at a green space run by Cyrenians, an Edinburgh based homelessness charity. The turbine will be built and tested over the following academic year, building skills and inspiring the next generation of wind energy innovators and engineers. The second phase will see the development of a turbine kit to be used as a teaching tool for local schools and educational charities.
Quaybridge Scotland, Zoe Barnes, commented “We are delighted to be supporting the Winds of Change project. This is a great example of how industry can engage meaningfully with Universities to encourage future Scottish engineering talent whilst supporting local communities at the same time.”
